Research

Liam:

He is an adviser to the prime minister, Ruth. Looking at his lines I feel that his job is not unlike that of Alastair Campbell's job to Tony Blair. He is the prime minister's Director of Communications. Liam would be a senior aide to members of Parliament, the House of Lords, the prime minister, cabinet ministers and government departments.

Terry:

He is part of an alpha course. The course seeks to introduce the basic beliefs of Christian faith to the members. It consists of a series of sessions over 10 weeks, each session starts with a meal followed by a talk and then discussions in small groups.

Things I have found out about my characters:

  1. Leah is very frustrated with Ruth, she shows this through sarcasm
  2. She doesn't agree with Ruth having a meeting with John. She believes he is not a reliable source of information for whether the country should go to war or not. She thinks John is a joke and that he is just another man who thinks he can change the world.
  3. She doesn't think Ruth knows what the right thing to do is

  1. Terry is genuinely intrigued about religion and really wants to learn more about it
  2. She thinks that Sally is an inspiring and passionate person
  3. She thinks Holly is really rude

Research on Iran:

Some articles that helped me understand the history of Iran and why the government would need to go to war with them. This gave me some insight into the situation and helped me to understand what the talks were about and also informed me of Leah’s feelings towards it. Her feelings were that she did not agree with going to war but that if it was needed then Ruth just needed to do it.
